A DAY OFF!
Do you have a dog or cat that does service? Lots of animals do service by going to nursing homes, hospitals, etc. to bring love and joy to the people who love and appreciate our fuzzy friends.
I've spoken to a lot of these very special animals and they tell me that although it brings them joy and satisfaction to do this for humans; (they really love having a 'job', especially when it comes to heart energy), they also want some time off.
I can say that I truly love my job. It doesn't really feel like work. However, to stay balanced and happy, I need time for myself to rejuvenate so I can be of upmost service to people and animals. The animals feel the same way.
So, give your animal partner a couple days of play and they'll love and appreciate you for it. :)

Animals as Gifts
It's that time of year again, and some people have decided to give a pet to someone they love as a gift. Let me make a few suggestions!
First, it's imperative to know if that person REALLY wants to have a new animal companion, as it's not fair for the animal, if it has to be returned.
If you are sure that they do, please find out if they would prefer a baby animal or one that is a little older, as training a puppy or any youngster is a lot different experience than an older animal who already is potty trained, etc.
Lastly, please, please, go to your local shelter to ADOPT! There are hundreds of animals ready and waiting for that perfect someone!

Can you hear me?
Don't think your animal needs to go to the vet? Recently, I've been working with a lot of animals who have wax build up in their ears. If untreated, it can lead to them becoming deaf. So, even though your animal partner may be in great physical shape, it's always a good idea to make those annual or semi-annual visits to the vet, to make sure those ears are clean and clear. :)
Our cat is a little over 17 years and he goes every 3 months. He's in great shape, the vet is always quite impressed, but always needs to have everything, including his ears checked. :)
I could go on about a lot of other things that need to be checked, but I just wanted to bring attention, in this post, to the ears. :)
Fun fact from Wikipedia:
Humans and cats have a similar range of hearing on the low end of the scale, but cats can hear much higher-pitched sounds, up to 64 kHz, which is 1.6 octaves above the range of a human, and even 1 octave above the range of a dog.

DONATIONS NEEDED!
Please help this small, loving rescue organization. They have many animals placed in foster care that need medical treatments. As we know, this can be extremely expensive. Any little bit helps!

2 CATS NEED A HOME!
A friend of mine cannot keep her two cats. Lola is 13, super sweet, pretty independent, and Fred is 8 and is super duper sweet and LOVES to hug and be hugged. Important for someone to be open to lots of hugs from Fred!!! :)
They are GREAT cats. I've worked with them several times. She is just super busy and not able to give them the attention they need, as she's not home a lot now.
Please email me: reikisue@gmail.com, if you are interested in adopting them or know someone who may be. I'd love for them to find a nice new home quickly!
Thanks for any help!

HOUSE PLANTS AND ANIMALS
Do you have a new animal partner, or are thinking of getting one soon? An important thing to know is that some common house plants are toxic to animals.
To check out what plants to avoid or to remove from your home, go to: http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/poison-control/plants/. There are printable lists of toxic plants for dogs, cats and horses on that site. If you have a bunny I would imagine following the cat list would be beneficial, or you can google toxic house plants for your specific animal, if it's not a horse, cat or dog. :)
I remember a few years ago, a friend brought over a beautiful plant for our home. I wondered if it was safe for our cat and found out that it was very toxic, so I had to give it to a friend who didn't have any animals in their home.
Let's keep our animal partners healthy and happy!

HOME AGAIN!
I had to share this story that just happened with one of my clients.
One of my clients has a donkey, horse and a pony. She contacted me as there were a few minor changes happening and wanted to make sure they all understood what was happening and why. A day later, she contacted me and said that she was looking in a directory for hay and she saw an ad for a pony. She of course, was definitely NOT looking for another animal! But, something just pulled her to that ad. So she contacted the people and asked for them to describe her..age, gender, etc. The people who placed the ad sent her a photo of the pony and that's when my client contacted me. She said she had to know more about this pony, etc. Turns out, that this pony is the reincarnated spirit of the pony my client had as a little girl! My client asked, is this 'Snowy'? As soon as she asked, I got chills all over my body, all of my arm hair stood straight up and got a definite YES! The pony is now hers, again. :)
Animals do reincarnate and come back to us, sometimes. I always suggest to clients when their animal partner is about to cross from this physical plane, that if they want to come back, (giving the choice to the animal), that they would love for them to. My client is very intuitive, so she was pulled to that ad...if you feel you may not be as intuitive, just ask your animal partner to make it really clear it is them, if they decide to come back, so there is no question in your mind that it's them. :)
My clients' daughter, who I believe is around 6 will be the one who will be riding the new family addition, they've already bonded.
I love when this happens.

MESSAGES FROM THE SHELTER ANIMALS!
Last week, I received specific messages from some shelter animals. This is what they had to say..
When you come to visit, please don't feel sorry for us, send us love energy. Tell us how handsome or beautiful and smart we are. Keep your comments positive please when you're talking about us to others with you, when you're near us.
Then they said:
We are so happy when people come and talk to us. We need more to come!
The dogs had specific messages as to how to approach them. They said..
Remember to let us smell you. You can sit on the floor near us, but don't look directly in our eyes, please let us know your scent first - talk to us and have us get used to you before you take us out. Then lets run, run, run! They said, don't just run the big ones, as the smaller ones want to run, too! They also requested not to pat their heads on top. They concluded by saying sometimes we don't know what to do with our energy - so we may act like we don't want you near, but we do - running helps us work it out.
Now, the cats and bunny's would love if you sing to them! They said that you don't have to be a singer, or have a great voice! They also said when you look at them, send them heart energy with a slow blink and a soft voice.
That was it from the animals. :) I would like to add a couple suggestions.
If you are an empath, or very sensitive like me, ask your Guides to help you not absorb anything energetically while you're there. When you get home, to ensure you haven't held on to an animals emotions, take a 4 or 5 minute (no longer), Epsom salt foot soak. Just put some Epsom salt in your tub or in a large bowl and when you're done and draining the water and rinsing your feet, ask that the energy be transmuted and say thank you. This way, Mother Earth doesn't absorb anything negative. I usually say, please transmute, transmute, transmute this energy and make this energy medicine for Mother Earth. I do this every time I go to a shelter, it really works.
It's very important that you are fully grounded and in a good emotional state before going to a shelter, as this is great energy for the animals to be around, and it helps balance them. Also it will ensure that you don't absorb anything from them.
If you feel that you may want to bring back all the animals, just ask your Guides or Angels to help you stay focused on why you're there. :)
They are waiting for visits, so go with a friend and talk to the animals, take the dogs out for exercise and make it a play date, if you can't adopt!

GOOD FOODS FOR YOUR ANIMAL PARTNER
Recently, after my cat was sick, I spoke to this amazing Vet, Dr. Darla Rewers, located in Seattle, Washington, and she recommended some brands of food that she likes for animals, and brands she recommended not to get. I want to share this with you!
The brands that she likes are:
Nature's Variety
Acaora
Orijen
Go
Avoderm - canned only
Tiki Cat
B.F.F.
B6
Wysong
Felidae
She said to avoid:
Dick Van Patten's, Eukenuba, Iams, Royal Canin, Wellness
Avoid BHA, BHT, by-products, ethoxyquin
She recommended Chicory/mulin, probiotics and Grizzly Salmon Oil.
When we took our cat off of Nutro, and put him on different food, he immediately got better. So, I would recommend not using Nutro!
My cat is so happy with his new foods and he is extremely picky!!!!

SENT FROM HEAVEN?
I recently spoke to a new client regarding her horse and had to share this story!
After discussing the basics to schedule an appointment, the woman asked if I had a moment to share a story with me, and I said, 'of course'. She began by saying how her dad had died a few years ago. She said that when she was a little girl, he bought her a wooden horse. She said she painted it all black, except for three of its' legs she painted on white socks. The horse that she was calling me about turns out is all black and three of its' legs have white socks!! She said, 'I think my Dad sent me this horse from Heaven'. My whole body got chills when she said that. I think she's right!
She wants to do everything she can to help her horse and find out what is going on with him. The Vet can't find anything, the trainer can't find anything, but she knows something is off, so she contacted me. She said she knows they are meant to be together. I tend to agree. I'm looking forward to doing the session to see what he has to say, and what is going on.
The beautiful thing about this woman is her desire to help him and change whatever needs to be changed, even if it's something she may not want to do.

BABY TALK...
When communicating with baby animals, remember that it's very similar to talking to baby children. You know when you are talking to a young child, just learning how to talk, they are focused on one thing, then all of a sudden they are distracted and start talking or focusing their attention on something completely different than what you are saying? The same is true with young animals. Don't expect to get the same information or have the same type of discussion from a young kitten or puppy or any young animal, as you would from an older one. The soul of the animal may be old and wise, but it is still in baby form. So, if you are working with your communication skills, don't be frustrated if the animal you are talking to is a baby and they don't seem to be paying attention, or you're not clear on the message they are sending.
Keep trying your skills with older animals, you'll get the confidence you need to keep doing it. :)
Your older animal companion will be so pleased that you are working on communication with them. Remember, you can ask them for a 'sign' that they understand what you are saying, to help with your confidence. Often times, cats and dogs will blink, a little longer than usual, a horse may whinny or stomp it's hoof. You can actually request a certain sign from them to acknowledge you.
Have fun, stay relaxed and send all messages with heart energy. :)

FINAL MOMENTS.....
When your beloved animal companion is ready to transition, there are some things you may want to consider.
First, intuitively check in with your animal to find out if it is really time to help them with their crossing. If you are unable to do this, hire an animal communicator to assist you. I've worked with animals where it appears that they would want to cross, but they actually want to do a couple things or say a few things to you before they leave. Of course, sometimes, they are really ready. Remember that they are not afraid to die. They are actually more concerned about our well being at this time, than their crossing.
It is very important to give them permission, telling them it's okay, that you are sad and will miss them, but you'll be okay. Sometimes they wait until they actually hear their human tell them this.
Tell them how much you love them and appreciate all that they have done for you, and what you have learned from them.
You can also ask them to come back into your life in another body, if they want to. Tell them that if they decide to return, to make it really clear and obvious that it's them. :) They may decide to stay in spirit form, let them know that it's okay if they don't want to come back. They may feel that they can help you in higher levels, from the other side.
Really feel, sense and hear their essence, so when they 'visit' you when they are in spirit form, you'll know it's them. I've had clients tell me they swear they saw their pet out of the corner of their eye; or, they felt them brush against their legs. Some people will feel a heaviness on the bed, where the animal used to sleep. These are just a couple examples of how you'll know they are visiting. Remember that if you feel, see or sense them after they passed, BELIEVE it is them.
If your animal companion has a pack or some friends, that don't live in the house, you may want to invite them all over to have a visit before he/she crosses. Make it a celebration of their life (happy occasion).
We all know the sadness and grief that comes along with losing a pet in their physical form. Honor these feelings of grief. Know that they will ALWAYS be with you in some form and that they have unconditional love for you. I've never met an animal who is in spirit form that is 'mad' at you for whatever reason you may think they may be. They love you, always.

SHOW ME YOUR ID, PLEASE!
Please keep current identification tags on your pet at all times, consider microchipping as reinforcement. Microchipping has not been perfected, but it could mean the difference of you reuniting with your pet or them being euthanized. Let's do whatever we need to do for the safety of our beloved animal partners.

IMAGINE THIS!
If you want to make sure your animal partner understands what you are telling them, picture what you are saying to them. To do this, first imagine a blank. T.V. or movie screen, and show them what you are saying, with a feeling of love. For example, if you want your cat to let you sleep until the sun comes up, visualize the scene of you sleeping, then the sun rising, and them waking you up. Don't visualize what you don't want, always talk to them about what behavior you want. Remember while you are doing this, to put the feelings of love in it. If you are telling your animal partner that they will be coming with you to the store, you can show them a picture of the two of you leaving your house, getting into the car and going. They will LOVE that you are communicating with them, in this manner. They will definitely understand what you are saying to them.
There are lots of guided meditations out there, so if you need to practice how to visualize or imagine, these guided meditations will help you greatly.

COME VISIT US!
Have a little extra time on your hands? The animals at the shelter near you would LOVE for you to come and visit them. If you're a dog lover, take one on a nice walk or run. Love cats....go and talk to them, tell them how handsome or beautiful they are. :) If you're afraid to 'take on' their energy, or that you'll want to adopt them all, before you go, do a quick protection exercise. Ask that your aura be surrounded by a trellis of roses, to protect you from any negative energy. Ganesh and/or Archangel Michel are great help in protection, so you can call on them to protect you from taking on any emotion.
So go spend some time with some adorable fuzzy friends! They love visitors, and the dogs always need to run, run, run!! Don't feel bad for not taking one home, if it's not right for you, they'll love the visit.

MESSAGES FROM THE ANIMALS!
Last Thursday, I was in Tampa doing the radio interview with Eluv, live in the studio. She was asking me if the animals had anything to tell us, this is what they said:
'Too much worry and stress - love each other more. Take it easy, play more! Stop worrying about the future - be in the moment.'
Their next message was:
'Adopt us please, many 'fancy' animals at the shelter, don't need to buy'.
And finally, they said:
' We are part of the family, treat us as such. Just like humans, we like to be respected'. Then they said, 'We love you'.
All such beautiful messages, and I know I needed to be reminded to take it easy and play more!
I'm now on the new time on Eluv's Ultrasounds radio show. The show is now from 11:00pm(EST)-1:00am, and I go on around 11:15pm, depending on where the track is. (88.5FM, Tampa). If you can't stay up, or you're not in Tampa, you can listen on-line for one week. (http://www.wmnf.org/programs/335

RUN, RUN, RUN!!!
Looking to adopt a dog? It's important to research the type of breed you are interested in adopting. Do you love the outdoors, go for hikes and bike rides and want an animal companion to run along side you? Not as active...maybe a dog that doesn't require as much exercise is the right fit for you. Remember to keep THEIR needs in mind, and be honest with yourself about what you are ready to do for your animal companion. Of course all dogs need to go out and run, but there are certain breeds that require a lot.
When dogs who require a lot of exercise don't get what they need, they don't know what to do with that excess energy and start becoming aggressive, or acting out in other ways. Let's help them stay balanced by doing our part, they will appreciate and love us for it.
Have fun choosing the right dog for you and your family! Remember shelters are full of wonderful, loving dogs, so please adopt!
