I recently traveled to Japan. It was truly a life changing experience for me. I know I have lived there in past lives.
I studied the traditional Usui Method of Reiki for many years and am now a Reiki Master. This particular lineage was founded by Mikeo Usui, who was attuned to this particular healing method on Mount Kurama, located in the northern part of Kyoto. I visited this special mountain, during my visit and could feel the energy as soon as I got off the train. I hiked up as far as I could - feeling the energy one step at a time. It was very powerful. I had many emotional releases during my journey. I 'heard' from my guides that I was releasing and healing. Lots of sobbing!
I knew that when I returned home that I would incorporate this new energy I have been feeling since I returned from this magical place.
This was my first session I did since returning. I could feel a slight shift while offering the Reiki. I'm feeling very blessed and honored.
Reiki (pronounced Ray Kee), is actually an ancient Tibeten healing art that was lost and rediscovered by Master Usui, who then passed it on to (attuned) Dr. Hayashi, who created the hand positions that are used today. Dr. Hayashi attuned a woman, Hawayo Takata, who brought it back from Japan to Hawaii. There's a lot to that story, but that's for another blog!
I really love how subtle, yet how powerful the energy of Reiki is. You don't have to be ill to enjoy the many benefits of Reiki!
